Livio Gallo is the Head of the Global Infrastructure and Networks Business Line, which manages 60.4 million customers and a network that stretches over 1,854,000 km.
The Division is continuously striving to innovate electricity infrastructure by introducing the newest technologies and systems, e.g., smart metering, network automation, LED lighting and smart lighting, electric vehicle charging systems, energy storage systems; the achievements of the Division put Enel among the leading companies on Smart Grids with more than 10 years of experience from the first large scale deployment of Smart Meters on more than 32 million customers' premises.
He is also the Chairman and founding member of the association named European Distribution System Operators for Smart Grids (EDSO for Smart Grids), incorporated in May 2010, having more than 30 members and participating to the European Industrial Initiative on Smart Grids launched by the European Commission.
