Environment

Energy consumption is constantly growing in the world, just like that of products and services, as well as the number of inhabitants.

At the same time, global environmental and climate concerns are also increasing. This is also due to the fact that 80% of energy is generated from fossil fuel combustion.

Nuclear electricity generation produces almost no carbon dioxide emissions and if the whole life cycle of a plant is considered – from uranium extraction to plant decommissioning and waste management – its emissions are comparable to those of renewables.

In order to meet the growing consumption while reducing emissions, renewable sources, innovation and energy efficiency will necessarily play an important role, but nonetheless will not be sufficient.

Therefore, climate and environmental concerns are a good reason to support nuclear power, which is currently the only source that can be used on an industrial scale replacing fossil fuels to generate a great amount of electricity without releasing CO2 or other greenhouse gas emissions.

Of course nuclear energy alone cannot be the solution, and several different actions and technologies must also be implemented. Nevertheless, any solution must certainly include nuclear power.
