Thermoelectric power

Worldwide, more than 60% of produced electricity comes from fossil fuels: coal, oil and gas.
In Europe, conventional thermoelectric generation is over half of the total production, and only in Italy it accounts for 80% of the total gross output.
Enel produces 152 TWh of thermoelectric power per year, with a net installed capacity worldwide of 56,132 MW (*).
In Italy, Enel manages 45 thermoelectric power plants with a total net capacity of 24,789 MW. Alone, these facilities generate enough power to cover 32% of the total electricity demand in Italy.
In the rest of the World we are present in:
- Spain and Portugal: 13,891 MW
- Russia: 8,223 MW
- Latin America: 6,843 MW
- Ireland: 1,013 MW
- Morocco: 123 MW
