The Enel Group was the first foreign operator to have entered the Russian electricity market.
It owns 55,68% of OGK-5, an 9,027 MW company with four thermoelectric power plants in four different regions of the country.
Through the JV Artic Russia B.V under a partnership with ENI, it has a 19,6% participation in the SeverEnergia consortium, which has won the tender to acquire assets from Artikgas, Urengoil and Neftetechnologia for an amount  of gas reserves within the Enel share equivalent to 149.7 billion cubic metres (updated Dec. 12th. 2010).
To guarantee its presence in energy trading, Enel also owns 49,5% of RusEnergoSbyt, covering a 4% share of the Russian energy demand.
In the nuclear segment, the Group has signed a deal to collaborate with RosAtom.
As for distribution, the Group is proceeding to install digital meters throughout the Belgrod province, on the Ukrainian border.
