Electric transport makes a considerable dent in polluting emissions created by fossil fuels, lowing pollution in the atmosphere around urban areas. Smart grids help develop sustainable mobility through cutting-edge charging stations.
Enel is at the forefront of the creation of an innovative, technologically advanced and smart electric vehicle charging infrastructure with public Pole Stations, which function in a similar way to petrol stations, and household Box Stations, which are personalised for each customer’s needs and making charging easily accessible and safe.
Alongside the development of Smart Grids, Enel’s charging infrastructure will help to lower the economic barriers that have slowed large-scale development of electric mobility. It will also enable other services and features relating to smart grids, such as load management, which strikes a balance between local production and consumption of energy, and storage, which thanks to Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology will see renewable energy stored and reintroduced onto the grid as and when it is needed.
