One billion dollar investments in Perù
A “very positive” visit: This is how Enel CEO, Fulvio Conti, described the
second appointment – after Chile – on his tour of Latin America
“I am returning to Italy feeling highly reassured of Endesa’s comprehensive
leadership in the economic landscape of Peru. This confirms that we will
continue to have a significant presence in developing countries” the CEO
explained to the Italian press agency Ansa regarding the Spanish company, of
which the Enel Group holds 92.06%”.
Conti said that he felt “very satisfied” after his meetings with the Chilean
president, Sebastian Piñera, in Santiago on May 5th, and in Lima with the
Peruvian premier, Alan García the following day.
Endesa will make investments in both South American countries: in Peru,
around a billion dollars will be invested over the next five years,
particularly for the new Santa Rosa power station, while in Chilean Patagonia,
Endesa Chile - together with the local company Colbún S.A - will build the
large-scale HidroAysén hydroelectric plant,.
Endesa currently has around 13 million customers in South America, including
Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago, Bogotá and Lima.
