The efforts of Enel Green Power in Haiti

Enel Latin America set out to raise funds for the Red Cross

In order to help the Haitian population, victims of the earthquake last January, Enel Green Power in Latin America set out to raise funds for the Red Cross. In the past two weeks, a communications campaign focusing not only on donations but also on a wide spread participation, invited our colleagues in both Enel Green Power offices and plants to make voluntary contributions.

"Facing such a devastating tragedy, a company and its workers who are socially responsible have the duty to look beyond personal and professional interests. Our colleagues' efforts were admirable, and donating the funds raised to the Red Cross is a guarantee for us that the money reaches the people who really need it", commented Valerio Cecchi, President of Enel Latin America.

The donations received from each single colleague were then more than doubled by Enel Latin America, reaching a total amount of 65.000 dollars. The money was then transferred to the Red Cross, who coordinates the relief operations.
