London’s well-known financial weekly announced the winners of its traditional awards. Enel received four prizes for its 2009 emission bond activities. One of these was assigned to Alessandro Canta, Head of Group Finance, the ‘most impressive corporate funding official’

Enel has recently received an important acknowledgement in the field of 2009 emission bonds. The traditional prizes promoted by the city’s influential weekly financial publication Euroweek, were presented at the Euroweek Awards at the Royal Court of Justice in London.

Enel received four prizes in different categories for its 2009 emission bond activities: ‘best corporate funding team for utilities’, ‘best funding team in Euros’ and ‘best funding team in Sterling’. The fourth prize was awarded to Alessandro Canta, Head of Group Finance and Managing Director of Finance and Control, who was named the ‘most impressive corporate funding official’.

The prizes were awarded for Enel’s bond issue in September 2009 for institutional investors, equivalent to 6.5 billion Euros. Less than an hour after it was launched, bonds had been placed for an aggregate amount of 28 billion Euros. The latter witnessed to what extent institutional investors appreciated Enel’s successful international growth strategy and its subsequent financial reinforcement.
