Customers
The complete liberalization of the Energy market in Italy, which started on
July 1st 2007, led us to operate in a highly competitive global environment
Not only companies, also families can choose new power supply offers
proposed by different utilities that operate in the market, competing with one
another.
By choosing one of these offers, the user automatically switches to the
free market.
By accepting to use a protected service, customers who choose not to
enter the free market can keep their supplier, while enjoying the same
conditions. The latter is guaranteed by the Authority for Electricity and
Gas (AEEG), which regulates and controls the electricity market.
A protected service (meaning that the continuity of the supply is guaranteed)
is granted to all businesses:
- employing more than fifty workers
- with an annual turnover exceeding 10 million Euros
- with connected points at medium or high voltage, when they haven’t chosen a
new electricity provider or are temporarily lacking a supplier.
In order to protect customers from the continuous fluctuations in fuel
costs, families and businesses are offered by Enel tariffs for weekdays or
night time and weekends, which block for two and a half years the energy
component of electricity and gas prices.
All customers can choose to be supplied of RECS certified
electricity, an international certification system set up to promote the
development of renewable sources.
They can also take advantage of Enel’s most innovative technologies for online
contract management: from the electronic bill to a channel where information is
collected and where the user can change his supply.
