The Digital Meter, which has been installed by over 30 million
customers, is the first and only system worlwide that serves all customers,
placing Enel at the forefront in the implementation of the Smart Grids
of the future.
Through the new meters, every user can:
- monitor his consumption, for the current two-monthly period and the
previous one;
- know the tariff that is applied;
- know the actual power consumed by household appliances.
By virtue of to the Digital Meter, customers can accelerate the activation
of their contract, or modify it, without having to wait for the intervention of

Through the remote measuring,customers can calculate their bill
calculated based on of consumption recorded and regularly updated, without
having to pay extra sums for deposits or balances.
An advantage of this system is its adaptation to different tariffs based on
different time periods. This way, it’s possible to enact the "Demand
Management", that is,an improved power demand management that is based
on the availability of the network.
