The NPO was established in 2003 to express Enel's commitment in supporting
the voluntary and non-profit organizations in projects, fund-raisings and
social solidarity in Italy and abroad.
During the first four years of activity, Enel Cuore has developed 230
projects worldwide, for which it has allocated a total of 26,346,788 Euros.
These projects are divided as follows:
Homing projects
To support the construction and redevelopment of centres that take care of
troubled children and adolescents.
Assistance projects
To purchase the equipment required by hospitals for the care of the seriously
ill.
Educational projects
To build training centres that are equipped with the necessary educational
material for young students.
Projects for the elderly
To offer home care and support to elderly people and stop the isolation that
surrounds them.
Projects for people with disabilities
To promote the socialization of people with disabilities through recreation,
sports and travel.
Projects abroad
Committing to support the foreign communities living in particularly difficult
areas, particularly Eastern Europe and America.
In 2008, our commitment has grown exponentially, with 5,881,582
million Euros of funding to develop 73 solidarity projects, 64 in Italy
and 9 abroad.
In Italy, Enel Cuore has strengthened its commitment for the South and the
Islands by 55% compared to 2007, consolidating a welfare system that truly
involves the whole country.
