What we do
Enel’s projects of biodiversity conservation are the following:

Bulgaria

Conservation of the Griffon Vulture jointly with the Central Balkan National Park: as part of the project for reintroduction of the species, installation of a release cage (used for growth and gradual release of the raptor).

Chile

Conservation of the Incas’ crops under agreements with local communities aimed at creating new areas of development improving their quality of life.

 

Italy

Conservation of the sea turtle Caretta Caretta jointly with Legambiente: monitoring activities of the species and their habitat; support to the recovery center in Puglia. Another sea turtle recovery center project is supported by Enel in Calabria, jointly with CTS.

Slovakia

Conservation of the Rainbow Trout at the National parks, including the one of the High Tatras.


   


Spain

Doñana National Park (Andalusia): support to initiatives of the Doñana 21 Foundation for conservation of natural heritage and maintenance of a wild avian fauna care center.

What Enel has done:

  • Conservation of the Golden Eagle (High Tatras National Park- Slovakia)
  • Scientific research and protection of the environment in the  Fortuna Forest Reserve Management, Panama
  • Safeguard of the White Stork  (Danube–Romania)
  • Conservation of the Alpine Marmot and of the Alpine Tatra Chamois in the High Tatras National Park- Slovakia
  • Avian fauna in Guatemala
  • Cleaning of the Pyreness lakes  (Spain)
  • Collaboration with Huinay Foundation for conservation of the last rainforests of the planet (Chile)
