Training

Training

Environmental training and information programmes qualify the annual training plan aimed at increasing the skills and expertise of Enel’s human resources. Training activities are monitored with regard to the units that receive them, regardless of the department that proposes or manages them. The data include training for staff members, meaning employees working for several operational units not necessarily belonging to the same industrial chain. This is due to the fact that “intellectual” activities in the environmental field performed by staff members are supposedly for the benefit of industrial activities. Throughout the Group, for employees that are more directly involved in environmental activities, in 2010 training modules amounting to about 71,637 man-hours have been carried out, divided as follows:

  • Thermal production: 30.7%
  • Nuclear production: 4%
  • Renewable electricity generation: 5.8%
  • Electricity distribution: 41.8%
  • Staff activities: 17.7%

The Enel Group focuses on information to internally and externally disseminate its training projects. The corporate internal web contains a section for the environment, which includes the CEO messages, the environmental policy, the Environmental Reports, information on environmental management systems, environmental processes for different organizational levels. Employees that are specialized in environmental issues can use an environmental reporting application.
