Enel has set the environmental improvement objectives that it plans to achieve by 2020, with regard to total specific emissions into the atmosphere and total net specific requirement of water.
Total specific emissions into the atmosphere express the amount of typical and significant substances emitted into the atmosphere for every kWheq(1) net of generated energy.
The total net specific requirement of water indicates the amount of water required to generate 1 kWheq net of generated energy.
In particular, compared with 2007 figures, Enel plans to reduce by 2012:
- the total specific emissions into the atmosphere of CO2 by 7%
Compared with 2010 fugures, Enel plans to reduce by 2020
- the total specific emissions into the atmosphere of SO2, NOx and Dusts by 10%
- the total net specific requirement of waterby 10%.
