Within the different Divisions, regarding specific issues, the following divisions are in charge of performing environmental activities:
- Renewable Energy, Generation and Energy Management (GEM) and Market Divisions
They include Safety and Environment staff functions that are in charge of coordinating. Specific units are in charge of environmental issues regarding generation. The Approval Unit – within GEM’s Plant Development and Assistance department – draws up the documents that are required for the issuance of environmental approvals to plant construction and conversion. - Iberia and America Latina Division (Endesa)
it includes the Environment and Sustainable Development Direction, which coordinates the environmental management of the Division. In turn, the environmental staff in local units report to this Division. - Infrastructure and Network Division
it includes the Safety and Quality Department , which coordinates environmental management. In addition, site-specific activities are entrusted to the local Safety and Environment Units called Local Network Distribution and Local Gas Departments. The Public Lighting Business Unit includes the Engineering unit that performs environmental tasks. - Engineering and Innovation Division
it includes Safety and Environment Department, which coordinates the Division’s environmental management. The Technical Innovation Department is in charge of drawing up, together with the other divisions, the technology innovation Plan, coordinating the execution of projects and promoting initiatives with a significant environmental impact. The Technical Nuclear department includes the Radioprotection, environment and approval Unit, which establishes the environmental requirements for all activities, from design to operations. It also coordinates environmental analyses and environmental impact studies, and supports approval procedures . - International Division
it includes Integration, Safety and Operations Support, which transfers environmental guidelines to the Countries. In the different Countries, units and representation offices oversee site-specific environmental issues.
In Enel Servizi, the Safety, Environment and Customer Care Unit operates within the Operational Service and Real Estate Management Direction. This unity coordinates environmental management through the Building Safety and Environment unit, consistently with Corporate objectives.
