results, objectives that have been or will be achieved, best performances and
areas of improvement, in compliance with its Code of Ethics, which establishes
commitments and obligations for Enel and all its employees, both female and
male.
Enel has been applying since 2006 the guidelines that have been drawn up by the
Global Reporting Initiative (GRI-G3 sustainability reporting guidelines).
2009 Sustainability Report
In 2009 Enel completed its international expansion: Today the Group is
present in 23 Countries, with approximately 81,000 employees. In spite of a
negative macro-economic context, Enel has demonstrated that it possesses
excellent dimensions of scale to perform a leading role in an increasinlgy
integrated and global energy market.
Generating value, combating climatic change, communicating with local
communities, safety for colleagues and co-workers: These are just some of the
commitments listed in the 2009 Sustainability Report. Starting this year Enel
will also publish the EUSS (Electric Utilities Sector Supplement) indicators,
foreseen by the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), integrating them as part of
the Report.
