With 75,360 employees worldwide, 51.1% of which non-Italian, Enel is constantly committed to the development, enhancement and involvement of its workers.
In order to combine Enel “citizens”’ perspectives and aspirations with the Company’s development, in a framework of global sustainability, it is necessary to align the values and culture of Enel’s employees. This will ensure the achievement of the business targets and a common pattern for relations with the internal and external community.
The fall of 2,953 units was due mainly to the changes in scope during the year, in particular to company disposals which led to a fall in the workforce of 2,462 people, and secondly to the slightly negative net balance between recruitment and terminations (-491 units).
The Personnel and Organization Department, together with the Industrial Relations and Safety units of all the Group’s companies, regularly attends to the requests of employees by specific meetings and climate surveys. Furthermore, trade union representatives have constant relations with the Industrial Relations Unit.
In this situation, the Department plays a crucial role in aligning the values and culture of Enel’s people with a single Group identity, while respecting the ambitions and commitments established by the Company in the field of sustainability.
This ambitious Group-level undertaking is translated into concrete initiatives. First of all there is the new management model, which defines the single profile expected for management and clarifies how a career is developed in the Group. Transparency, objectivity, meritocracy, knowledge sharing, the development of global capabilities, and multiculturalism are the features that characterize the model.
The participation and engagement of the Enel “citizen” are also promoted through the activity of the Internal Communication Unit, within the External Relations Department, aimed at promoting integration by means of innovative methods and instruments.
