Zero Tolerance towards Corruption Plan
In order to give substance to Enel’s membership in the Global Compact (which dates from March 2004), in addition to fulfilling the commitment undertaken at the Davos Forum (in January 2005) when – together with more than 60 multinational companies – Enel signed the Pact Against Corruption Initiative (PACI), during 2005 the Enel action plan for achieving the set of its sustainability objectives included studying and drawing up a plan to fight against corruption.
Enel’s commitment in the fight against corruption is spelled out in its implementation of a Zero Tolerance towards Corruption Plan (ZTC Plan), specifying the general principles of the Code of Ethics regarding the rejection of corruption and the diffusion of this philosophy.
ZTC Plan incorporates Transparency International’s (TI) anti-corruption principles; the document is distributed within and outside of the company indicating the responsibilities and actions that need to be taken as they apply to different company divisions for the successful implementation of the programme.
