Working on the front line with the United Nations
In 2004, we joined the United Nations Global Compact. Our commitment and investment have grown year on year and we are now directly involved in four of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We are driving growth in social, economic and environmental sustainability.

Producing clean energy from renewable sources is just the first step toward a new sustainable model for developing, building and operating our plants.
We work each and every day to create value in all the contexts in which we have a presence. Our aim is to combine our industrial goals with the socioeconomic development of the areas where we operate. We build solid, positive relationships in order to achieve sustainable and enduring results.
We have made our business model sustainable along the entire value chain and we have organized it according to the various different geographic, social and economic contexts involved. We continue to anticipate the future and work with our stakeholders to ensure that society enjoys sustainable progress.
The adoption of a Circular and Sustainable model is fundamental to us. It is essential to integrate technological development into a broader Circular Economy strategy, from the design phase to the choice of raw materials, the energy used, to operation, reuse, remanufacturing, down to the final recycling of an asset.
Our role as an enabler is based on taking the long-term view and on sustainability. This means we can create shared value for our clients, the communities we work in, and for our shareholders.
Our ambition to help build a more equitable and inclusive society along the entire value chain is at the very heart of our strategy. It is something we will achieve by protecting the environment we live in and creating opportunities for the future both for the company itself and our stakeholders without leaving anyone behind.

Innovation does not just mean technology: it is the result of a major cultural shift that is helping us to relate to the world in a new way.
This is why we talk about Open Innovation because it enables us to open ourselves up to the outside world, to industrial partners, universities, research centers, startups, colleagues and clients.
The result? A perfect ecosystem that encourages exchange and crossovers, and which also allows us to work closely to invent innovative solutions that meet society’s new needs.
The Hubs are genuine incubators where different ideas and solutions come to life and come together. This means we can identify the areas of innovation in localities were it is growing most rapidly.
We want to give all of our stakeholders, both in-house and external, a voice. This is why anyone can use our Open Innovability® crowdsourcing platform to suggest sustainable innovation projects and solutions for the challenges we are facing.
