In Brazil, through Enersis, Enel Group controls two production companies– with a total capacity of 976 MW – the transmission company CIEN and the distribution company Ampla - operating in the city and in the state of Rio de Janeiro, with more than 2.6 million customers – and Coelce that provides energy to 3.4 million customers in 184 municipal districts in the state of Cearà.
Enel Green Power also has a presence in the country, contributing significantly to the production of renewable energies there. As of June 30th, 2015, its installed capacity in Brazil amounted to 377 MW, and construction of new wind and solar PV plants is underway.
Overall, the Group's total net output in Brazil amounted to about 5.8 TWh in 2014.
