Enel develops initiatives with environmental groups, consumer organizations, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and second level organizations (SLOs). Meetings produce agreements and partnerships for joint executions of environmental, cultural, recreational and citizen awareness projects in favor of sustainable development.
The growing influence of associations in public life is reflected in the CSR Unit.
In Italy, the Consumer Associations are the interest groups with which the Company met most frequently in 2009, especially regarding the Conciliation Protocol, instituted in 2006 for domestic customers.
For this protocol a work group with representatives of the 17 Associations registered in the CNCU (National Council for Consumers and Users, an organization instituted within the Ministry of Economic Development) has been instituted. Subsequently, a work group was initiated on this same subject with the national leaders of Confartigianato, CNA, Confcommercio, Confesercenti, Confapi, and Confagricoltura to evaluate and extend out-of-court settlements for small and medium-sized companies.
