Rome, 8 March, 2006 - The Enel Board of Directors met today under the chairmanship of Piero Gnudi and examined the 2005 financial statements of Enel's subsidiaries. The Board also decided to bring forward its meeting scheduled on March 23rd, to March 22nd. At this meeting the Board will approve Enel Group's 2005 consolidated financial statements and Enel SpA's proposed statutory financial statements as of December 31, 2005, as well as the proposed allocation of net income.
 
The Board continued to review international opportunities while waiting for further clarity from the European institutional environment.
