ENEL: THE SLATES OF CANDIDATES FOR THE RENEWAL OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAVE BEEN FILED

Rome, April 4th, 2011 – Enel hereby informs that today the Company’s shareholders mentioned below filed two slates of candidates for the office of Director, in view of the renewal of the Company’s Board of Directors (whose term is expiring) put on the agenda at the General Shareholders’ Meeting convened on next April 29th in a single call.

The slate filed by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, which owns approximately 31.24% of Enel SpA’s share capital is composed of the following candidates:
1. Mauro Miccio (*);
2. Paolo Andrea Colombo (nominated for the Chairmanship);
3. Fulvio Conti;
4. Lorenzo Codogno;
5. Fernando Napolitano;
6. Gianfranco Tosi (*).
(*) Candidates who hold the independence requirements provided for by the law (articles 147-ter, paragraph 4 and 148, paragraph 3 of the Unified Financial Act). 

The slate filed by a group of 19 mutual funds and other institutional investors (1), which together own approximately 0.98% of Enel SpA’s share capital is composed of the following candidates:
1. Angelo Taraborrelli (*);
2. Alessandro Banchi (*);
3. Pedro Solbes (*).
(*) Candidates who hold the independence requirements provided for by the law (articles 147-ter, paragraph 4 and 148, paragraph 3 of the Unified Financial Act). 

The above mentioned slates and the relevant accompanying documentation will be made publicly available by the deadline provided for by the law at the company’s headquarters, on the Borsa Italiana website (www.borsaitalia.it) and on the Enel’s website (www.enel.com, Group/Governance/Shareholders’ Meetings/2011/Election of the Board of Directors section).
