Athonet and I-EM, two of the winners of Enel Lab, are among the 13 Italian start-ups that are taking part in the first barcamp in the history of Wall Street, bringing Enel innovation to the New York Stock Exchange.

Athonet, which works on advanced systems for mobile telecommunications, and I-EM, which provides smart and integrated energy management solutions, will present their projects on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange in front of American investors, venture capitalists and business angels interested in testing out the most promising Italian start-ups.

They will be in New York as part of the first stage of USACamp – the international mission of ItaliaCamp, the Italian association that has been partnered with Enel Green Power since 2012 – which will take place from 26 February to 3 March 2014. The pair were chosen to participate in USACamp after they won the third edition of the Your Idea for the Country contest launched by ItaliaCamp and supported by the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers.

The mission of USACamp, whose delegation is formed by 70 accredited members from Italian industry and academia, will continue in New York with events and seminars on economic, geopolitical and institutional issues before moving on to Washington D.C .

Athonet and I-EM are among the seven winning companies of the first Enel Lab business laboratory, Enel's Italian and Spanish start-up incubator for businesses that work on clean technology. The winners were not only offered investment between €250,000 to €650,000, but are also given administrative, accounting and fiscal support from Enel, as well as the opportunity to develop and test prototypes in laboratories.

Athonet is now starting the pre-marketing phase, while I-EM is already marketing its solutions and is working together with Enel on the development of innovative computing technologies that use artificial intelligence algorithms.
