Learning how to develop innovation in Silicon Valley and creating start-up in Italy is the philosophy behind the Business Exchange and Student Training programme, which is dedicated to promising Italians under 35 years of age and offers them the chance of staying in the United States for six months learning business 2.0 through an innovative technology transfer model.

Enel is a donor to the 2015 edition of BEST, the result of cooperation between the US Embassy in Italy, Invitalia and the Fulbright Commission, the latter of which manages each stage of the contest up to the selection of scholarship winners.

BEST 2015 scholarship winners will be able to take part in intensive entrepreneurship and management courses at California's Santa Clara University. Besides following university courses, participants will be granted an internship at high-tech companies in Silicon Valley. Once they return to Italy they can also take part in a tutoring programme aimed at further developing their business ideas.

The programme is open to young researchers, economists and university graduates under 35 years of age who work on introducing innovation into the marketplace, either through the creation of a start-up or the development of a promising business idea.

In order to take part in BEST 2015 candidates must fill in the BEST Application Form 2015-16 that must be sent to the Fulbright Commission by email at the address BEST@fulbright.it by 27 March 2015. BEST is planning to grant at least four scholarships for the 2015-16 academic year.

Now at its seventh edition, the BEST programme, in part thanks to the long-term support offered by Enel, has enabled 63 young Italians to develop their talents and ideas in the USA, leading to the creation in Italy of 34 start-ups that have in turn generated hundreds of jobs.
