SEforALL Forum, Enel in New York

Energy efficiency as a priority to overcome the challenge of energy access: this is the theme at the heart of the first day of the SEforALL Forum, the annual meeting promoted by Sustainable Energy for All and due to take place in New York from 3-5 April.

The Forum will be opened on Monday 3 April at 9am (local time) by the CEO of SEforALL, Rachel Kyte with an overview of the statistics relating to the global energy divide.

Following the introduction by the SEforALL CEO will be a session on the opportunities for growth and development offered by the adoption of innovative solutions in energy efficiency.

On the first day of the Forum, Enel will be signing an agreement with Sustainable Energy for All to launch the SEforALL Electrification Accelerator: an initiative with which Enel will commit its support to SEforALL and the Secretary General of the United Nations to accelerate the fulfilment of 7 SDGs (seven of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals defined in the UN’s 2030 Agenda dedicated to the universal access to safe, sustainable and fairly priced energy), offering the group’s expertise and know-how and guiding a development plan for electrification through the digitalization of mini networks, mini-grids and e-mobility.

The initiative will be announced during a session of the Forum by the SEforALL CEO Rachel Kyte.

Among the speakers contributing to the debate is Enel CEO Francesco Starace, who will be discussing the theme together with Jules Kortenhorst, CEO of the Rocky Mountain Institute, Jennifer Layke, Global Director of the World Resources Institute (WRI), Patrick Oliva Senior Vice President for External Relations Sustainable Mobility and Energy Transition of Michelin, Paul Simons, Deputy Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, Zouera Youssoufou Managing Director and CEO of the Dangote Foundation.
