Finding sustainable solutions to design a zero-emission future is the topic at the centre of the fifth international conference on sustainable development Low-Emissions Solutions Conference (LESC) that is held on 20 and 21 September, at the Columbia University in New York City.

It is a  much awaited event, also because it is being held in the framework of Climate Week, which was opened on 18 September in the Big Apple and a few weeks before the COP23 of the UN that Bonn (Germany) will host from 6 to 17 November.

Our Group is among the protagonists of the LESC Conference. Today, at 9:30 a.m. local time, Jeffrey Sachs, Director of Sustainable Development Solutions Network of the United Nations (SDSN), will present the expectations of the Conference and introduce Enel.

It will then be the turn of the CEO and General Manager of our Group, Francesco Starace, who will give a keynote speech titled “The road toward zero emissions: a vision for the future of the energy industry” at 9:45 a.m. local time. During his speech, Francesco Starace will explain the many benefits of electrification, a key factor for achieving the objectives of the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement, and how new renewable energy sources already are a competitive solution for a zero-emission future.
