Climate Week, the future of our climate to be decided in New York

Published on Friday, 21 September 2018

From 24 to 30 September New York will be hosting the 10th edition of Climate Week NYC, one of the most important international climate summits. The event is organised every year by The Climate Group, in coordination with the UN and the City of New York, and coincides with the UN’s General Assembly.

Climate Week NYC’s Opening Ceremony takes place on 24 September from 9 a.m. to noon local time at the Times Center at the New York Times Building, and will also see the participation of Enel CEO and General Manager Francesco Starace. He will speak during the panel “Global Business stepping up”, scheduled to begin at 10.25 a.m., to an audience of CEOs, government ministers, governors, mayors and investors from around the world.

Also taking part in the discussion will be Ricoh CEO Yoshinori Yamashita and Jens Birgersson, CEO of Rockwool Group.

CEOs will highlight how their organisations are taking action against climate change and asserting the position they think business should be in by 2020.

The proceedings will be moderated by Joan MacNaughton, President of The Climate Group and the Advisory Board of the New Energy Coalition of Europe.
