Moscow, energy and its challenges

The second edition of Russian Energy Week, a series of meetings and conferences on the future of the energy system in Russia and the wider world, is to be held between 3 and 6 October at the Moscow Manege Exhibition Centre. 

Francesco Starace, Enel’s CEO and General Manager, will be taking part in the plenary session entitled “Sustainable Energy for a Changing World,” scheduled for Wednesday 3 October from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (local time). This is the most important event of the week, and will see the participation of a number of important figures, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is to make the opening speech.

Also on the panel are Khalid A. Al-Falih, Saudi Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, Ben van Beurden, CEO of Royal Dutch Shell, Pekka Lundmark, CEO of Fortum and Patrick Pouyanné, CEO of Total.

The subjects under discussion include future scenarios and trends in the energy sector on a global level and the most important measures that need to be taken in order to provide secure energy supplies to individual countries and geographical macro-areas, thereby increasing the competitiveness of national economies and giving millions of citizens a better quality of life.
