Electricity for a zero-emissions future: #EnelFocusOn in NYC

Published on Monday, 16 September 2019

The power of electrification in tackling the challenge of creating a zero-emissions future and providing access to clean energy for all is the theme of the latest #EnelFocusOn, which takes place in New York City on September 24 and will be live-streamed from 4:00 pm local time.

The keynote speaker will be Rachel Kyte, CEO and Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Sustainable Energy for All, a worldwide network that was created to drive the transition to renewable sources and accelerate access to clean energy for all the world’s population.

She will be joined by Enel CEO Francesco Starace, who is also due to play a central role at the Climate Action Summit at the United Nations the day before. This event is being promoted by UN Secretary-General António Guterres in order to urge governments, businesses and civil society to step up their efforts in the battle against climate change.

This is the 17th #EnelFocusOn and the fourth to be held in New York City; other editions have been held in San Francisco, Boston, Rome, Santiago de Chile, London, Goiânia, Madrid, Bucharest, Bogotá and Addis Ababa.
