With 76 MW of installed capacity, Castle Rock Ridge (CRR) will be able to generate more than 200 million kWh annually, therefore avoiding the atmospheric emission of over 130 thousand tons of CO2.
EGP’s total installed capacity in North America increases to 1,088 MW.

Rome and Pincher Creek, Canada, May 31st, 2012 – The Castle Rock Ridge Wind Farm, located in the town of Pincher Creek in Canada’s southwestern Alberta region, has been connected to the grid.

The new wind facility has a total capacity of 76 MW. The 33 turbines of the wind farm will be able to generate over 200 million kWh each year, avoiding the atmospheric emission of more than 130 thousand tons of CO2 annually.

With Castle Rock Ridge, Enel Green Power has increased its installed capacity to 124 MW in Canada, while the Group’s total installed capacity in North America has reached 1,088 MW.

"Castle Rock Ridge is a clear demonstration of our ability to build power plants in Canada and a first step for future potential development in the Alberta region,” stated Enel Green Power CEO Francesco Starace.  “The entry into service of the new plant has further increased our ‘zero-emissions’ capacity in the country, where we have had a well established presence for a long time, stressing our commitment to contributing to sustainable growth.”
