ENEL GREEN POWER AWARDED EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO DEVELOP UP TO 130MW WIND CAPACITY IN CHILE, ANTOFAGASTA REGION

Santiago de Chile, April 16th, 2013 – Enel Green Power has won a public tender organized by the Chilean Ministry of National Assets for a wind farm site, named Sierra Gorda Este, located in the region of Antofagasta. The company has been granted  the exclusive right to develop, build and operate a wind project of up to130 MW.

The wind farm’s load factor is expected to exceed 30% should the project be rolled out to its maximum capacity. The plant  will cover an approximate area of 4800 hectares.

With this project, we have covered close to 90% of our planned wind development in the Country during the 2013-2017 period.”

In Chile, the Company already has 92 MW of hydro capacity and has recently started operations at Talinay wind farm, with an installed capacity of 90 MW, for a total installed capacity of 182 MW in the country. Again in the Antofagasta region, Enel Green Power has started the construction of Valle de los Vientos, a 90 MW wind farm.
