ENEL AND THE ITALIAN ENVIRONMENT MINISTRY IN PARTNERSHIP TO TRAIN CIVIL SERVANTS FROM CHINA

Rome, May 16th, 2014 – The Enel Foundation (Fondazione Centro Studi Enel) will once again be taking part in the Advanced Sino-Italian Training Programme on Environmental Management and Sustainable Development for 2014, aimed at civil servants from China and promoted by the Ministry of the Environment and Land and Sea Management (MATTM). Also party to the agreement is VIU, (Venice International University), responsible for the technical and scientific organisation and coordination of the whole programme.

The advanced training programme, which is part of the bilateral cooperation initiative between Italy and the People’s Republic of China, is implemented in concert with such Chinese institutions as the Ministry for Science and Technology, the Ministry for Environmental Protection, the National Commission for Reform and Development, the Ministry for Industry and Information Technology, the Chinese Academy of the Social Sciences, in addition to some important local administrations such as the municipalities of Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin. In the twelve years the programme has been running, over ten thousand civil servants from China have been able to benefit from the training opportunities organised in Italy and China by VIU.

The Enel Foundation’s participation, which began in 2012, has enabled the programme to further extend its training activities on the themes of energy and climate policies, generating technologies both traditional and those using renewable sources, smart network management and electric mobility, transferring Enel best practice and organising visits to the group’s power plants and laboratories.
