- The Enel Group's global business line and the ANCI Foundation sign a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of energy communities in Italy
Rome, December 23rd, 2021 - A partnership combining different skills in the field of sustainability for the development of energy efficiency projects: Enel X and the Fondazione Patrimonio Comune have signed a memorandum of understanding to encourage the spread of energy communities in the country, a vital step in the process of change that sees local communities increasingly at the heart of the ecological transition. The two-year partnership aims to promote responsible consumer behavior, starting with the drastic reduction of daily waste necessary to bring benefits in terms of environmental impact on the country.

By bringing together public actors and private partners such as Enel X, FPC pursues initiatives that can support municipalities with the development of challenging and innovative projects. Together they promote the theme of energy communities to municipalities for the development of increasingly green, zero-impact and ecological cities.
Specifically, by signing the agreement, the two companies undertake to involve stakeholders and citizens who will be able to take part in specific training courses to raise awareness of best practices in the field of sustainability. Thanks to the experience of Enel X, which is at the forefront in offering energy efficiency products and services, and the support capacity of Fondazione Patrimonio Comune, set up to support municipalities and local authorities on their journey towards urban regeneration, the program being launched focuses on the essential requirements for the establishment of energy communities and the assessment of possible energy efficiency measures for Italy's real estate stock.
