El rendimiento de Enel en la lucha contra el cambio climático

En 2021, la huella de carbono de Enel fue de 125,0 MtCO2eq (un 9 % más en comparación con 2020), principalmente como resultado de una mayor producción de electricidad a partir de combustibles fósiles, dividida de la siguiente manera:

> Alcance 1: 51,6 MtCO2eq (un aumento del 13 % respecto a 2020) que representa el 41 % de las emisiones totales de GEI (el 99 % de estas emisiones provienen de la actividad de generación de energía). Además, el porcentaje de emisiones relativas a ETS es del 63 % del total de las emisiones de alcance 1 (frente al 53 % en 2020).

> Alcance 2: 4,3 MtCO2eq (un 6 % más que en 2020), lo que representa el 4 % de las emisiones totales de GEI. Además, el 69 % de las emisiones de Alcance 2 están relacionadas con las pérdidas técnicas totales en la red.

> Alcance 3: 69,1 MtCO2eq (un incremento del 7 % respecto a 2020) que representa el 55 % del total de las emisiones de GEI.

Combustion of fossil fuels in generation activities (CCGT, Oil&Gas and coal thermal plants). This includes:
  • CO2 emissions (50.56 and 44.67 Mt in 2021 and 2020 respectively)
  • CH4 losses in gas-fired thermal plants (0.002 and 0.003 MtCO2eq in 2021 and 2020 respectively)
  • CH(GWP = 28) e N2O, emissions (GWP = 265) expressed in CO2eq (0.14 e 0.11 MtCO2eq in 2021 and 2020 respectively)

  • Combustion of fossil fuels in auxiliary motors as part of power generation activities (nuclear and renewable plants; 0.03 e 0.06 MtCO2eq in 2021 and 2020 respectively)
  • NF3, losses (GWP = 16,100), espresse in CO2eq (0.01 e 0.01 ktCO2eq in 2021 and 2020 respectively) for solar panel production
