ENEL: LUIGI FERRARIS IS NEW HEAD OF LATIN AMERICA AREA, ALBERTO DE PAOLI NEW CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Alberto De Paoli has been appointed as officer responsible for the preparation of the corporate financial reports of Enel S.p.A. starting from November 12th, 2014, when he will replace Luigi Ferraris, who will become head of the Latin America area
A number of changes in the composition of the “Directorio” of the subsidiary Enersis have been approved

Rome, November 4th, 2014 –The Board of Directors of Enel S.p.A. (“Enel” or the “Company”), chaired by Patrizia Grieco, acting upon the favourable opinion of the Board of Statutory Auditors, today appointed Alberto De Paoli as the officer responsible for the preparation of the corporate financial reports of Enel S.p.A.. starting from November 12th, 2014, when he will replace Luigi Ferraris as the Chief Financial Officer of the Company.

As of November 12th, Mr. Ferraris will replace Ignacio Antonanzas Alvear as the head of Latin America area operations and will also become Gerente General of the Chilean subsidiary Enersis.

The Board of Directors of Enel expressed its appreciation to Ignacio Antonanzas Alvear for his efforts over the last several years and the important results he achieved at the helm of Endesa’s operations in Latin America.

The Board of Directors of Enel also agreed a number of changes in the composition of the board of directors (“Directorio”) of Enersis, specifically the appointments of Jorge Rosenblut (designated as the new Chairman), Carolina Schmidt and Alberto De Paoli to replace the resigning directors Pablo Yrarrázaval Valdes (the outgoing Chairman), Leonidas Vial Echeverria and Luigi Ferraris.

Luigi Ferraris
Graduated in Economics at Genoa University, he began his professional career at Price Waterhouse. Afterwards, he held several managerial positions worldwide, working for leading industrial companies such as Piaggio, Sasib Beverage and Elsag Bailey Process Automation, a NYSE-listed company. Mr Ferraris joined the Enel Group in 1999 to take up the role of Chief Financial Officer at Eurogen, Elettrogen and Interpower. In 2002 he became Head of Planning, Control, Administration and Services of the ‘Infrastructure and Networks’ and ‘Market’ Divisions. In 2004 Mr Ferraris became Head of Planning and Control and in 2005 he became Head of the Administration, Planning and Control Area. In 2009, he took the position of Chief Financial Officer of the Enel Group. Mr Ferraris is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Enel Green Power as well as Board Member of Endesa and Enersis.

Alberto De Paoli
Graduated in Economics at “La Sapienza” University of Rome, from 1993 to 2008 he has been working in the telecoms sector where he held several managerial positions in Telecom Italia, Wind Telecomunicazioni (including that of Head of Planning and Control, Head of Strategies and Mergers and Acquisitions, Chief Financial Officer as well as Executive Assistant to the CEO). Again in the telecoms sector, Mr De Paoli has been working for Tiscali, where he was Head of Strategies, Mergers and Acquisitions as well as Business Development. At Enel Green Power, he held the position of Chief Financial Officer from April 2008 to April 2012. As Chief Financial Officer of EGP, he led the start-up and listing of the Company. Up until today since May 2012, Mr De Paoli has been Head of Group Strategy at Enel.
