Enel announces changes in top management

Rome, November 29th, 2021 - Enel announces that Nicola Lanzetta will take over as Director of Italy from December 1st, 2021 and Carlo Tamburi is to lead Enel’s project for the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) in Italy.

Nicola Lanzetta – takes the position of Director of Italy at Enel Group, where he has been Head of Market Italy since September 2014. He has served as Chairman on several Boards of Enel Group companies, such as Enel Energia SpA, Servizio Elettrico Nazionale SpA, Enel.si srl and Enel Sole SpA.

Nicola Lanzetta began his career in 1992 at AT&T/NCR Italy S.p.A. dealing with major customers and then moved to the world of telecommunications, working for Telecom Italia S.p.A. and Infostrada S.p.A., where he was Trade Marketing Director and later Retail Sales Director. He joined the Enel Group in 2001, first overseeing the corporate integration and establishment of Enel Gas S.p.A. and then the launch of the Enel Energia commercial network during the first retail market liberalization phase. He was Senior Vice President of Enel Energia S.p.A. and from 2014, Head of Market Italy at Enel.

He is also chairman of Assolombarda's Energy Group and a member of the Board of Directors of Confimprese.

Nicola Lanzetta graduated in Computer Science from the University of Pisa and is married with two daughters.

Carlo Tamburi – takes on the role of National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) project manager, with the aim of guiding the implementation of all energy transition initiatives and projects related to the Italian NRRP, in coordination with the relevant business lines and staff functions. Carlo Tamburi will also handle relations with institutions and stakeholders relevant to the promotion of Enel’s positioning, projects and technologies.

As the Enel Group’s Director of Italy since July 2014, Carlo Tamburi began his professional career in 1983 at Citibank in Milan, where he worked in International and Corporate Finance. He joined the IRI Group in 1990, first at the Cofiri Finance Company, then at IRI’s Finance Department on Rome’s Via Veneto, as Head of Large Public Company Privatization Processes. In 2000, he became General Manager of the Treasury Department of Italy’s Ministry of Economy and Finance, heading the Finance and Privatization department, serving as a Member of the Board of Directors of Finmeccanica, Alitalia, Wind, Consap and Enel. He was also Chairman of the shipping company Tirrenia di Navigazione.

He joined Enel in 2002, where he initially took charge of the Mergers and Acquisitions area, then he was appointed Director of Purchasing, Services, General Affairs and Real Estate and in 2008, he became Director of the International Division.
