Gianni Vittorio Armani

Head of Enel Grids and Innovation

Gianni Vittorio Armani was appointed Enel Group Director for Iberia and CEO of Endesa in April 2026.

Previously, he served as Enel Grids and Innovation Director since July 2023, after holding the position of Enel Grids Director starting in June of the same year.

Since December 2024, he has been Chairman of Elettricità Futura, the leading association of the Italian electricity sector, bringing together producers, distributors, and service providers, of which Enel is also a member.

Before joining Enel, from 2021 he served as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Iren SpA, leading the listed multi-utility company to record results in 2022 with €1.1 billion EBITDA, accelerating the investment plan and launching a significant development process in renewable energy.

In 2020, he was Director of Strategy, Regulatory and Business Development at A2A. From 2015 to 2018, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Anas SpA, guiding the company through its integration into the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group.

He currently serves as Senior ESG Advisor for the investment fund Azimut and has been an independent board member of several companies operating in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Between 2005 and 2015, he worked for Terna SpA, holding roles of increasing responsibility up to Chief Executive Officer of Terna Rete Italia.

He holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from La Sapienza University of Rome and completed his studies in business administration and finance management with an MBA from MIT in Boston.
