Letter to stakeholders
Our sustainable business model enables us to meet the new challenges of the energy transition
From repurposing power plants to changing the way we design our products and services for cities, the circular economy model has become an integrated part of our business strategy.
The 2019 Sustainability Report
With a long-term and sustainable approach to our role as an enabler, we have been able to create shared value for our customers, the communities where we operate and our shareholders.
2020-2022 Sustainability Plan
This plan guides our way towards sustainable long-term development by embracing and accelerating the energy transition. It uses new technologies, energies and ideas to meet the needs of a fast changing society.
Cultivating technologies to evolve the way energy is sourced, distributed and consumed
Beyond technology itself, innovation centres on a widespread cultural change that facilitates a new way of relating to the world.
For this reason we speak about Open Innovation. This opens up to the outside world, to industrial partners, universities, research centres, startups and, not least, to colleagues and customers.
The outcome is a desirable ecosystem where cross-contamination is encouraged and allows us to work closer together – to devise innovative solutions that meet society’s changing needs.
These hubs are not merely observation points, but active collectors and incubators of problem-solving ideas. They allow us to pinpoint and accelerate innovation in the places and communities where they are taking place.
We use this approach to give all of our stakeholders a voice, both within and outside the company. This is why the Open Innovability crowdsourcing platform allows anyone to propose sustainable innovation projects – or solutions – to the challenges we need to tackle.
The strategy we use to accelerate transformation
To make real impact on the world’s growing energy issues, we must multiply the effects of the progress that has already been made.
For this reason we are providing more services to more people in more countries – powering local economies and expanding energy access wherever we can.
Openness plays a key role in our strategic and operational approach, and helps us to tackle the challenges involved in the energy transition. We believe these challenges can be overcome through innovation, sustainability and collaboration.
#EnelFocusOn is a format of networking meetings that brings both experts and innovative ideas together, in order to inspire change and drive progress.
