ROAD ACCIDENT IN QATAR. FOUR ITALIANS DIE

Doha, September 26, 2002 – Four Italians lost their lives in a road accident last night in Qatar. They were employed on the construction site in Ras Laffan where Enelpower is building a thermoelectric power plant and desalination plant. For reasons which are yet to be ascertained, the minibus carrying nine passengers collided with a truck. There were six fatalities: an Enelpower employee, 50-year old Carlo Covre of La Spezia; three Italians employeed by subcontractors; Giuseppe Ricci of the Swiss company Aczenta International of Zurich; Andrea Bergamini of the company Cosacem of Porto Scuso; Enrico Tento of the company Frag of Milan; and two Indians, a General Electric employee and the driver. The remaining three passengers were injured. Luigi Salvatore, an engineer with Frag, very seriously. They are all being treated at the Doha hospital. In sympathy for the families, Enelpower has extended to all relatives all the support needed at this time.
