Bari, 14 March 2007 Today, Enel, represented by the CEO, Fulvio Conti and the Russian Nuclear Energy Agency RosAtom, represented by Director Sergey Kirienko, signed a Memorandum of Intent on the development of the electricity sector and nuclear power generation in Russia and in Central and Eastern Europe.
In particular, Enel and RosAtom express their intention to cooperate in the following areas:
- Jointly develop nuclear power generation;
- Jointly take part in the management of electricity systems;
- Jointly invest and participate reciprocally in nuclear assets.
On the occasion, Enels Conti said, We are enthusiastic about the opportunity to collaborate with the Russian Nuclear Energy Agency in the nuclear power sector that is becoming increasingly strategic. Our interest in the project is enhanced by the fact that RosAtom signs an MOI with a private company for the development of the nuclear sector in Russia and in Central and Eastern Europe. We consider Russias experience and technologies in this sector to be of great interest for the implementation of our joint plans.
