The Enel Group’s company dedicated to the development and management of power generation from renewable resources and its Japanese partner Eurus Energy Europe (a joint venture owned by Tokyo Electric Power Company and Toyota Tsusho Corporation) will develop a pipeline of wind projects totalling approximately 400 MW, of which up to 100 MW at an advanced stage of development

Rome, 30 April 2009 - Enel Green Power has signed an agreement with Eurus Energy Europe to acquire the rights to 50% of wind power projects with an installed capacity of up to 400 MW. The wind power projects are being developed at sites with high wind power potential in Calabria.

"The agreement with Eurus will enable Enel Green Power to begin electricity generation from wind power in Calabria, making a significant contribution to the development of this resource in the region” Francesco Starace, President of Enel Green Power said. “We are very pleased to work with Eurus, a leading wind power generator that has been operating for decades in the development of major wind power plants in countries around the world. The construction of these wind facilities will significantly increase the installed wind power capacity of Enel Green Power in Italy. At the end of 2008, Enel Green Power’s installed wind power capacity in Italy had risen to 380 MW. Enel's commitment to renewable energy is significant and growing. We are number one in the world in this sector with a output of over 17 billion kilowatt-hours and an operational presence in 16 countries in Europe and the Americas, with a total installed capacity of about 4,500 MW. These new projects are further demonstration of our ability to play a leading role in the development of wind energy in our country."

"We are so excited and proud to work with an excellent partner such as Enel Green Power” Tetsuro Nagata, President and C.E.O. of Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation stated. “We are aiming to add these projects to Eurus’s growing portfolio of wind generation through this partnership and are looking forward to our continuing relationship with Enel Green Power and further extension into other markets".
