ENEL GREEN POWER SIGNS LOAN AGREEMENT WITH BBVA IN MEXICO

The 100 million US dollar loan is aimed at partially covering EGP investments planned in the Mexican state of Oaxaca

Rome, June 24th, 2013 – Through its subsidiary Inelec, Enel Green Power, has concluded an agreement with Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria Bancomer (BBVA) for a 100 million US dollar loan aimed at partially covering its planned investments in the Mexican state of Oaxaca.

The 5-year loan will be disbursed by 2013 at an interest rate in line with the market benchmark and will be backed by a parent company guarantee released by Enel Green Power. 

Enel Green Power currently has around 197 MW of installed capacity in Mexico, 144 MW of which wind power and 53 MW of which hydroelectric.

With its century-long experience in the field of geothermal energy, Enel Green Power is developing new opportunities in this sector. In Chile, in particular, the company is exploring several concessions for a potential capacity exceeding 100 MW.
