Enel and its subsidiary Endesa have once again been named in the Euronext-Vigeo Sustainability Indices, which assess both the commitment to and achievements in sustainability among the world's leading businesses.

The Euronext Vigeo indices were calculated by Euronext, the first pan-European exchange, and French rating agency Vigeo, a leading expert in the assessment of businesses and institutions with regard to their environmental, social and governance policies. The evaluation is made by analysing 330 indicators for each company, divided into 38 fields, including protection of the environment, respect for human rights and business' human capital, relations with stakeholders, corporate governance and code of ethics, integrity and the fight against corruption and the prevention of social and environmental dumping in the supply and subcontracting chain.

The rankings are updated twice a year, and both Enel and Endesa have been included on the indices since they were first launched in 2013. Enel has been included on the Euronext Vigeo World 120 (the most important index, which ranks businesses worldwide), the Euronext Vigeo Europe 120 (European businesses) and the Euronext Vigeo Eurozone 120 indices (Eurozone market). Endesa was included in the latter two. The indices list the top 120 companies based on their Corporate Social Responsibility performance, among the 1,500 companies with the largest free-float market capitalisation. Other smaller indices include those that evaluate the markets in the USA, France, UK and Benelux (Belgium-Netherlands-Luxembourg).

Enel has been included in other world leading sustainability indices such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index World, the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Europe, the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index, the Carbon Performance Leadership Index, the FTSE4Good Index and the Newsweek Green Ranking. These indices are a further demonstration of the Enel Group commitment both to being globally recognised model for its sustainability policies and its CSR business strategies.
