The projects we are presenting today, said Enel CEO, Fulvio Conti, have a common goal, to target development: specifically, to promote and encourage new initiatives and research, mainly from amongst our young people, which in the coming years will be able to make a contribution to the driving forward of Italian enterprise and, more generally, to making innovation the essential tool for kick starting the economy against the current unfavourable scenario.
With Enel Lab, Enel and Endesa will be setting up the first business laboratory to promote projects for innovation in clean technology, to be submitted by Italian and Spanish start-up businesses. The first selection of projects by Enel Lab will start in July 2012 and close in February 2013, with the six winning start-ups set to receive funding of up to 650,000 euros, with the subsequent opportunity to be mentored within the company.
