Enel Helping Society and Promoting Culture

The Enel Group is aware of its social responsibilities and is committed to initiatives that help improve the economic and social conditions of the communities where it works.

Its non-profit organisation Enel Cuore is only one of these initiatives, but according to Enel CEO Fulvio Conti it is among the most important for 'highlighting the Group's commitment to society and sustainability, benefitting the needy both in Italy and in other nations where we have a presence'.

Recently celebrating its tenth birthday, Enel Cuore had a chance to take stock of the considerable progress it has made, with more than 570 projects carried out in Italy, Eastern Europe, Latin America, Africa and North America. Overall, almost €52million has been handed out to more than 400,000 beneficiaries, including children, the ill, people with disabilities and the elderly.

Enel also offers its support to musical organisations and events, and not only internationally renowned ones such as the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome and the Festival del Maggio Fiorentino but also more local events like the Radio Orchestras in Romania, the Východná folklore Festival in Slovakia, in Russia and in various countries of Latin America.

The same commitment applies to visual arts. Enel is the Main Sponsor of the VeniceBiennale and of the Macro Museum in Rome, which exhibits the prize-winning artworks of Enel Contemporanea, through which the Group showcases promising artists from across the world. Another one of Rome's cultural jewels supported by Enel is the magnificent Galleria Borghese, but Enel's commitment to art is expressed in Russia, Spain, Slovakia, Romania, Guatemala, Costa Rica and a number of other Latin American nations.
