Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging

Above all, it fosters a sense of belonging.
In November 2024, we adopted a new Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Policy. It’s based on 10 guiding principles and is in line with our values. Six fundamental dimensions lie at the heart of this policy: parenthood and the role of the caregiver, intergenerational dialogue, gender equity and pay equality, cultural integration, acceptance of different abilities, neurodivergence and vulnerability, and respect for sexual orientation and gender identity.
The new policy reinforces our commitment to an increasingly inclusive environment through initiatives that promote conscious behavior and relationships, both inside and outside the organization. This approach enables us to attract talent, value differences, and seize future opportunities.
Our focus on gender equality and equal pay led us to obtain certification in accordance with UNI/PdR 125:2022 for Enel, Enel Italia, and Enel Sole in 2024: this confirms our commitment to ensuring equality based on merit.
Cultural diversity is an integral part of our identity: every day, in the countries where we operate, 82 nationalities and 20 languages are shaping an environment where differences coexist and become a shared asset.
Particular attention is paid to the parenting experience, which is recognized as an opportunity for personal and professional growth. Different generations meet, exchange ideas, and enrich each other: this dialogue is what gives us our strength, so that we can generate innovation, growth, and inclusion.
We also support people with disabilities, neurodivergences or in vulnerable situations, recognizing the value of the different perspectives and needs that each person brings with them.
This commitment has consolidated our leadership in the main ESG (environmental, social and governance) indices and ratings. In 2024, Equileap included Enel, for the fifth consecutive year, among the 100 most virtuous companies in the world for gender equality, confirming us in first place in Italy and third among utilities globally. In 2023, for the fourth consecutive year, we were included in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI), which selects the most advanced companies in terms of transparency and results in inclusion policies. Endesa and Enel Chile also appear in the index.
These forms of recognition are evidence of our tangible and ongoing commitment. This is because it’s only by enhancing uniqueness and promoting equity that we can generate positive, lasting, and shared growth.
