Actions in favor of the energy transition

We’re talking about a genuine paradigm shift. On the one hand, it requires the replacement of fossil fuels with renewable sources and, on the other, the development of new technologies such as storage and hydrogen, the electrification of certain sectors, and digitalization.

The development of renewable energy lies at the heart of the energy transition. In recent years, photovoltaics and wind power have joined mature technologies such as hydroelectric and geothermal power and have established themselves as the major players in the ongoing transition.

This is a decisive shift focused on decarbonization, i.e., the gradual abandonment of fossil fuels and, therefore, the decommissioning of coal-fired power plants.

The development of new sectors, such as marine energy and green hydrogen, could also contribute to the transition in the near future, while storage technologies, i.e., energy storage systems that are capable of compensating for the intermittency of sources such as the Sun and wind, will be decisive.

The electrification of consumption and certain sectors, as well as the digitalization of industrial processes and grids, are also contributing to improving energy efficiency and completing the energy transition process.
