An island for bees - Sardinia, Italy
Thirty percent of Sardinia's pollinating insects are at risk of extinction due to the increasingly extreme effects of climate change. Bees play a vital role in maintaining the natural balance and ensuring food security: they pollinate one-third of global crops and are responsible for about 75% of the pollination of all plant species on the planet. Without them, a third of the food we eat would no longer be available. This documentary tells a story of bringing native flora back to life with projects focused on reforestation and replanting nectar-producing plants to create a new forest for bees and other pollinating insects.
